Fiona works with educational institutions undergoing change, exploring how space can support (or hinder) their learning and working practices, and facilitate movement from 'the way we are now' to ' the way we believe we could be.'
Fiona is director of Fid Ltd, a consultancy set up in 2006 to work with educational institutions interested in developing new learning and working environments to support educational trends. She currrently convenes the RIBA's HEDQF, participates in CABE's enabling programme for BSF (Building Schools for the Future), sits on the steering commitees of two research projects re-evaluating academic workspace requirements (Strathclyde University and Loughborough University), contributes to the continuing professional development programme run by PCPA (Personal Construct Psychology Association) and acts as an external assessor for their diploma programme.
Previous experience includes workplace consultancy (AMA), design studio teaching (University College London, Oxford Brookes University, Greenwich University), health/housing research (Avanti architects), educational facilities (VSO, UNESCO), and general architectural practice (Armstrong Chipperfield, Scott Browning Turner).
