Fiona works with organisations undergoing change, exploring how space can support (or hinder) learning and working practices, and facilitate movement from 'the way we are now' to 'the way we believe we could be'.
FiD Ltd was set up by Fiona Duggan in February 2006 to work with organisations interested in developing new learning and working environments to support emerging trends. Fiona currently convenes the RIBA's HEDQF (Higher Education Design Quality Forum), participates in CABE's enabling programme for BSF (Building Schools for the Future), sits on the steering committees of three research projects (Lincoln University, Loughborough University and Strathclyde University), contributes to the continuing professional development programme run by PCPA (Personal Construct Psychology Association) and acts as an external assessor for their diploma programme.
Previous experience includes workplace consultancy (AMA), design studio teaching (University College London, Oxford Brookes University, Greenwich University), health/housing research (Avanti architects), educational facilities (VSO, UNESCO), and general architectural practice (Armstrong Chipperfield, Scott Browning Turner).
