HEDQF - Academic Workspace: Walking the Talk

Hosted by Penoyre & Prasad LLP

Penoyre & Prasad kindly organised and hosted our recent event on academic workspace. Ian Goodfellow, Partner at Penoyre & Prasad, chaired the event and introduced the evening by setting out the reasons for there being big changes underway in academic workspace and identifying the key reasons why it is so complex for universities to implement. The following speakers then shared what they wished they had known when they embarked on workplace change:

  • Dr Jennifer Parkin, Loughborough University
  • Janthia Taylor, Deputy Director, Ravensbourne College
  • John Raftery, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Oxford Brookes University

This was followed by a lively discussion around the need for the right balance between strong leadership and good consultation processes. Fiona Duggan of FiD and Ian Goodfellow of P&P then presented some tried and tested strategies for projects involving academic workspace and organisational change which in turn led to further debate between the panel members and the audience.
