The pilot of the Schools Design CPD Course, set up by London Metropolitan University and the Institute of Education in partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Department for Children, Schools and Families, took place in the Libeskind designed Graduate Centre at London Metropolitan University June 2009.
Over two and a half days the course covered various aspects of school design and procurement through in depth lectures, learning through participation workshops, discussions and a site visit. The course participants came from a wide variety of backgrounds, including local authority officers, architects, educationalists, project managers and contractors. A second course took place in September 2009 and further courses are planned for Thursday 11 and Friday 12 March, and Thursday 1 and Friday 2 July 2010.
