Leadership training event for future leaders of the architects' profession
London, 7 March 2013 - Strong Leadership
The RIBA Future Leaders programme is an initiative established as a means of providing qualified architects with the leadership and management skills necessary in an increasingly complex profession and construction industry.
The topics and speakers have been specially selected to provide a business overlay to the skills learnt during Part 3. The afternoon consists of a series of talks and workshops with the principal themes on Strong Leadership: developing management and leadership skills in a complex environment, and negotiation.
This course is a continuation of a successful programme from previous years with new speakers and topics, and whether you are a partner or director of a practice looking to enhance the skills of your future leaders or an individual striving to be a future leader this is will enhance your own business skills or those of your staff. This event also counts towards annual CPD requirements.
Dave Hall - Dave is a founding partner of Sampson Hall, a well established leadership and management development consultancy. He is an accomplished leader and manager with over 25 years successful leadership and management experience across distinctly different fields; the military, construction, maritime engineering and education sectors.
A qualified and experienced leadership and management coach and Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management; Dave is a dynamic and energetic leader with excellent team building skills.
Rhian Howell - Rhian joined Beale and Company in 2006. Her chief areas of expertise are claims against lawyers, construction professionals and D&O liability.
Rhian regularly provides training to insurers and brokers on Solicitors minimum terms, construction and D&O policy wordings and strategy and tactics on handling claims.
Richard Saxon - Richard joined BDP in Manchester in 1966, becoming an associate in 1970 and a partner in 1977. He headed the firm's London office (1993-1999), and served as group chairman (1996-2002). He is now principal at Consultancy for the Built Environment.
He has also served as chairman of BE (a fore-runner of Constructing Excellence), vice-president of the Royal Institute of British Architects (2002-2008), Master of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects (2005-2006), and president of the British Council for Offices (1995-1996). He was awarded the CBE in 2001 for services to British architecture and construction.
