Description:
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Housing Design Awards, this year sees the biggest ever exhibition of at least 60 schemes which have demonstrated excellence in 2008, as well as new photography of the historic
winners from over the last 60 years of the Awards, as they look today. Originally launched alongside the
NHS by Health Secretary Aneurin Bevan – as housing was seen as key to health – today the awards are sponsored by the Department for Communities and Local Government and are an industrywide partnership, which celebrates the role of architect, developer, constructor and planning authority in the best new residential designs.
