Description:
Gareth Hoskins Architects is one of Scotland's most notable architecture firms. 2008 saw the practice win the Housesteads project on Hadrian's Wall and the Gathering Space structure, commissioned by The Lighthouse, which was a highlight of the Venice Architecture Biennale.
This exhibition presents a selection of their first ten years of work, which has seen projects both across the UK and increasingly internationally. The practice's contextual approach is explored with the focus on recently completed projects such as the Culloden Battlefield Visitors Centre and The Bridge Arts Centre, Glasgow, plus current designs for the new Lerwick Cinema and Music Venue, the National Museum of Scotland and the redevelopment of St. Andrew's Square in Edinburgh's New Town.
Curated by RIBA Journal Editor, Hugh Pearman, this is the first in a series of architectural monographs produced by The Lighthouse to celebrate rising Scottish architectural talent.
Exhibition supported by Davis Langdon
