Description:
Be inspired by winning entries from the RIBA 175 Schools Competition, in partnership with National Construction Showcase, displayed in the prestigious Westminster Hall.
Held to mark the 175th anniversaries of both the RIBA and of the fire that lead to the building of the current Palace of Westminster, school pupils aged 14–19 have been challenged to design a new Parliament building in one of the English regions to meet the needs of Government in the 21st Century.
The competition has been entered by 124 schools across England and Wales. Eleven regional winners have been selected to work-up their original designs, with an architectural mentor, for display in the exhibition. The overall winner will be awarded during a special ceremony on 7 July.
Admission to the exhibition and Westminster Hall is free. Access is via St Stephen’s entrance – you must state that you are visiting specifically to see the exhibition – where you will undergo a security/bag check before receiving your visitors pass. Please visit www.parliament.uk for full visiting information.
