10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Venue:
12 Star Gallery, European Commission, 8 Storey's Gate, London SW1P 3AT
Description:
Explore the contribution made by architects from the European Union to the shaping of London through stunning photographs from the RIBA Library Photographs Collection.
The exhibition charts works by émigrés of the inter-war years, many of them fleeing persecution, such as Walter Gropius, Ernst Freud and Eugene Rosenberg, to designs by contemporary practitioners such as Eva Jiricna and Renzo Piano working in today’s globalised market. The exhibition is curated by the Photographs Collection, one of the finest archives in its subject field worldwide. Images from the collection can be viewed online at RIBApix|.
