Research is ongoing on Le Corbusier, a seemingly inexhaustible subject. With an international career, spanning decades, material relating to his career and influence can be found in archives around the world, not just the remarkable collections of the Fondation Le Corbusier, in Paris.

The RIBA British Architectural Library possesses a surprising amount of original material relating to Le Corbusier. Some of these are well known, such as the remarkable lecture diagrams, featured in the forthcoming recreation of Le Corbusier’s 1947 lecture held at the Architectural Association. However, discoveries are being made all the time, exposed in the new publication, Le Corbusier and Britain: An Anthology, edited by the Library Director, Dr. Irena Murray and her colleague Julian Osley. So why not take a peek at newly found letters, photographs, and sketches on the subject of Le Corbusier, which challenge established presumptions about his career?

Why Workshop?

Find out about Le Corbusier’s public and private persona in a remarkable range of archive materials unique to the Library. Why not use this opportunity to discover:
