On loop from 6pm

Venue:

RIBA, 66 Portland Place, London W1B 1AD

Description:

Director Gerry Troyna, 2007
Running time: 60 minutes

The railways of India are more than just a transport system - they're the life blood of a nation. In Mumbai, six and a half million commuters use the city's suburban rail network every day. Every line is clad in its own slum community with hawkers and runaway children living alongside it and its own special police force.

This observational documentary looks at the incredible organisation of the network, with stories of the people who keep the trains running 24 hours a day, those who survive because of it - and those who die on it.
