Jarmund / Vigsnæs Architects (JVA) was established in Norway in 1996 by Einar Jarmund and Håkon Vigsnæs: Alessandra Kosberg joined as a partner in 2004.

JVA's projects range from small cabins in the woods and interiors, to large scale hospitality projects and urban plans. The firm has developed expertise in designing for the Nordic weather as well as creating connections between the buildings and the distinctive Nordic landscape.

The practice constantly explores how to innovate through the use and experimentation of materials. Their work includes the recent renovation of the Oslo School of Architecture and the Svalbard Science Centre.

The Winchester Lectures series is organised by RIBA Hampshire Branch.
