Enter a world of magic and mystery with a day of family fun at the RIBA, inspired by the atmospheric photographs of Edwin Smith.

Family workshop: Ghoulish grand designs - Build your very own haunted house

11am to 4pm
£2 per child, paid on the door.

Drop into our family workshop to design and build your own haunted house using little more than your imagination and a few tasty supplies! Create a gargoyle mask to take home. Dig through the RIBA archive to be inspired some of Britain’s spookiest houses.

Storytelling: Haunted tales

Performances start at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3pm
£8 per family (maximum two children and two accompanying adults; £4/additional child or adult), paid at door.

World-renowned Crick Crack Club storyteller, Ben Haggarty, draws us into the beguiling and shadowy world of spirits, boggarts and bogles, and things that aren’t quite what they seem. Performances last 45 minutes and are ideal for ages 7+.

All events have been inspired by the exhibition Ordinary Beauty: The Photography of Edwin Smith and are led by professional educators. Materials included unless otherwise indicated.
