Daniel Libeskind is an architect with a global reputation for taking architecture to 'places we have never been'. His acclaimed Jewish Museum, Berlin (1999) and the Imperial War Museum, Manchester (2001) are two such examples of a 'radical' architecture which is crafted with what he refers to as 'perceptible human energy'.
In partnership with the BBC, Razia Iqbal directed questions to Daniel Libeskind about his unique philosophy of taking architecture to places we have never been, the projects that have made him and the adventures he has had along the way.
The Dream Builders event will be broadcast on the BBC World Service in June 2013.

A 1,000ft tall pyramid of glass now stands in splendid isolation on the south bank of the River Thames. The Shard is a striking and controversial addition to the London skyline, either melting into the heavens or rudely imposing itself on the British capital, depending upon your point of view. The tallest building in Western Europe, it represents a pinnacle in the dazzling career of its architect, Renzo Piano.
The RIBA and BBC World Service marked the topping out of The Shard with a special live recording on 12 June 2012 in which Renzo Piano talked with presenter and broadcaster Razia Iqbal about his latest creation, his long career and his approach to architecture.
