06 March 2012
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Venue:
RIBA, 66 Portland Place, London, W1B 1AD
Description:
The architecture of RIBA International Fellow Imre Makovecz, who died last year, stood well outside the
mainstream. His extraordinary, handcrafted 'organic' buildings were deeply symbolic, highly personal and bedded in both his own philosophy and the culture of his native Hungary.
The talk, introduced by Edwin Heathcote and delivered by János Gerle (a long-time commentator on the architect's work), explores Makovecz's unique legacy.
Drinks and nibbles will be served afterwards.
Fees:
Free but advance booking essential.
