Guerrilla Tactics is now in its tenth year, and despite the profession having changed dramatically over the last decade, this conference is looking forward with gusto to the next one. The 2013 conference entitled 'Architect + X' sets out the must-have skills for a small practice to ensure success and to stand out with 'X' factor, including client and fee management and using BIM for small projects.
Tuesday 12 November 8.30am - 5pm
The conference considers the often overlooked but essential skills for small practitioners to succeed in the next decade including:
- Running your practice like a project
- Communicating your value to clients
- Integrating BIM in small practice
It also includes:
- A quick fire session looking forward to the next 10 years of 10 aspects of the industry
- An exciting Live Pitch: Guerrillas in the Midst
The keynote speaker for the conference day has just been confirmed as William Mann of Witherford Watson Mann, the 2013 winners of the RIBA Stirling Prize.
He will talk about contemporary challenges and the ideas his practice has developed to address these. Having won the UK's most prestigious architecture prize with 'a bold new attitude to restoration and reuse', he believes that you don't have to be a large practice to help effect significant change. As he says, 'for us, the city is a collective project – but architecture is always personal'.
WE CAN NOW ANNOUNCE THAT TEN EXEMPLARY PRACTICES HAVE BEEN SHORTLISTED FOR THE NEXT STAGE OF THE LIVE PITCH JUDGING PROCESS.
Wednesday 13 November 8.30am - 5pm
