Starting 24th June 2013 RIBA’s one week trade mission to China is visiting Beijing and the cities of Chengdu and Chongqing. This mission is part of RIBA’s international strategy to support architects in accessing opportunities overseas. RIBA has been developing significant profile, recognition and relationships in China. Recent successes include a trade mission of architects to Hong Kong and Shenzhen; and the RIBA Shanghai Shop Windows project collaboration between nine UK based architectural practices and Chinese property developer Shui On Land in Shanghai. This next trade mission in June is a continuation of RIBA’s work in China.
This RIBA trade mission will introduce ten architectural practices to business opportunities in China; in Beijing and in Chengdu and Chongqing, the gateways to western China. Practices will see at first-hand the range, scope and scale of opportunities available in urban design and development projects across Beijing, Chengdu and Chongqing. There will be an additional emphasis on sustainable and low carbon design skills and projects. You will meet decision makers and senior officials from the municipal and provincial departments, city planners and local investors and developers. You will gain a platform to showcase your practice’s skills, experience and expertise in China and develop understanding of the local business context and culture.
The Trade Mission Package – Places available for 10 architectural practices
The trade mission package fee will be confirmed with practices direct. The subsidised package includes, a full programme of activity in China, meetings, site visits, introductions, business matching, marketing materials, standard economy return flights from London, hotel accommodation during the visit, UKTI Overseas Market Introduction Services, local transport, meals, interpreters and translation services.
