RIBA West Midlands Regional Awards shortlist 2015

Two shopping centres, an old library and a rare surviving pottery works are among Buildings to make Architecture Awards shortlist
Following the success of Astley Castle in 2013 and the Library of Birmingham in 2014, the Awards have become the benchmark in identifying the best new architecture in the West Midlands.

The nine shortlisted buildings are:

  • The Archive & Record Centre in Hereford by Architype

  • The Old Market Shopping Centre in Hereford by Allies & Morrison

  • The Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge by KKE Architects

  •  Middleport Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent by Feilden Clegg Bradley 

  •  River Studio in Warwickshire by Sjolander da Cruz Architects

  •  Southwater One in Telford by Associated Architects

  •  St Peter’s Academy in Stoke-on-Trent by Associated Architects

  •  The Badge Works in Birmingham by Sjolander da Cruz Architects

  •  The Old Library in Leamington Spa by TateHindle

All shortlisted buildings will be assessed by a regional jury and the winners of RIBA West Midlands Awards will be announced at Spotlight in Birmingham on 30 April 2014. Find out more and join the celebration

Regional winners will also be considered for a coveted RIBA National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence, which will be announced in June.

The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize for the best building of the year will be drawn from the RIBA National Award-winning buildings later in the year.
