RIBA Student Membership

RIBA Student Membership will provide you with invaluable support and resources to help you develop towards becoming a fully qualified architect.

Membership is free to students studying RIBA Parts 1 and 2.

You’ll be joining a network of over 40,000 individual Members based all over the world.

Who can join as an RIBA Student member?

The RIBA Student member category is for individuals who are studying RIBA Parts 1 or 2 (or are in their year out between Part 1 and Part 2) at an RIBA validated school of architecture anywhere in the world.

  • You'll get a 10% discount at the RIBA online bookshop (also valid instore)
  • As a member, you can borrow books from the British Architectural Library, the largest and most comprehensive resource in the United Kingdom for research and information on all aspects of architecture
  • Use the Library Enquiry Service provided by the Information Centre if you can't make it in person for research assistance (free to members only)

  • As a Student Member, you can also opt to receive the RIBA Journal for a discounted rate of £94.80 per year if you live in the UK and £118.20 per year if outside it (usually £158 or £197 for non members)

How do I become a RIBA Student Member? 

To apply for RIBA Student Membership:

  • Register as a guest here
  • Check your emails – use the password and link that have been sent to you to log in as a guest
  • Once in, choose 'My Account' - and then choose 'Student Application' from the mini menu that opens underneath that
  • Fill in your information and get registered

What happens next

You’ll be able to start using Member online benefits within 24 hours, including the Members Only area of Architecture.com.

Within 4 weeks, your Membership will be officially confirmed and you’ll be sent an e-welcome pack with information and your card.
