The winner in the Sessay Hub Competition was Sutherland Hussey Architects with Gross Max Landscape Architects, AED Structural Engineers and BCC Quantity Surveyors.
The new building is to replace existing facilities on the site near Thirsk which have been described as thermally inefficient and coming to the end of their useful life. The project was backed by the Sessay Parish Council and Village Hall and Playing Fields Association. The judging panel was chaired by Robin Snell and also included designer Wayne Hemingway.
“Sutherland Hussey produced a thoughtful and forward thinking design which should provide a truly uplifting pavilion for the Sessay community and the wider region”.
