Looking over Christchurch Harbour this new house is raised up above the flood plain like the hulls of upturned boats with a strong brick base with extensive curving flank walls. High quality materials and detailing together with the strong triangular roof forms and give it a dramatic and dynamic feel aspect. The floor level was raised to accommodate the deign flood levels and flood resilience measures were included.
