Scammell House , 9-12 High Street , ASCOT , Berkshire , SL5 7JF

The existing accommodation on the site was dated and it was considered that demolition and a new build was the best way to achieve the clients wish for new flats which could accommodate families. We undertook a feasibility of the site prior to issuing proposals and holding a public consultation with residents, neighbours and local councillors to determine the best solution. it was decided that three blocks housing sixteen flats in total and linked by timber walkways at first floor level would satisfy the client whilst creating an aesthetically pleasing development for the local area. All flats are fully wheelchair accessible whilst the whole development has been designed with low energy requirements to achieve code for Sustainable Homes level 4. Secured by Design will also be achieved and risks of flooding have been dealt with through raising the ground floor and designing the landscaping to allow for level access to all areas.
