Located within one of Brent's Conservation Areas for a private client. The approach for the design was to create a clean and simple extension which both improved the internal layout of the existing property and that was in keeping with the surrounding context. The scheme incorporated a two storey side extension; replacing a an existing tired garage to accommodate a walk-in wardrobe and luxurious en-suite to serve the new master bedroom. As part of the overall works we refurbished and simply merged the existing garage with the rest of the house by punching a whole through its main side wall to provide access at low level to accommodate a new utility, shower room and office – connecting views of the garden. Due to the fantastic width of the house at the garden elevation we decided as part of this project to connect the indoor and outdoor boundaries - emphasis on the views over the garden whilst enhancing the contemporary pavilion-like feel of the living accommodation using expansive glazed sliding doors and crisp white render
