Greatspace were approached by a private client to change the use of retail unit into a commercial development in Consett town centre. To create an exclusive feel, we proposed to paint the existing brickwork jet-black and then to erect a profiled aluminium second storey extension from within the brick envelope. The property features a double height atrium, flexible interior spaces and exposed services. A full length ridge skylight allows natural light to pour in through the spine of the building and flood the interior spaces
