Listed Building - Grade II

Practice

Jonathan Freegard Architects

5 Tredegar Square , Bow , LONDON , E3 5AD , United Kingdom

A brief to install new showers developed into a full-blown refurbishment of this grade II listed priory. Jonathan Freegard Architects extended and refurbished this Grade II listed priory in Bethnal Green for the Augustinians of the Assumption. The work included a new fully-glazed entrance lobby within an existing courtyard with structural glass stairs and mezzanine floors. This allowed existing internal corridors and stairs to be removed and several larger rooms to be created including a private chapel for the Order. The £1.4 million project began within days of the permission being granted and was completed on time and on budget.
