This was a pioneering project designed with Percy Williams & Sons to test the viability of low energy houses for open market sale. Phase 1, comprising of 11 dwellings, was completed in 2008. The scheme wears its low energy credentials proudly with a highly contemporary appearance. Meeting the then Ecohomes Level 5 certification ensured a holistic approach to sustainable living. The scheme incorporated many (for the time) innovative energy saving technologies including ground source heat pumps, photovoltaic solar panels, under floor heating throughout and a super insulated fabric as well as rainwater harvesting, sustainable urban drainage measures, low VOC/embodied energy materials and lifelong adaptive living principles.
