The client's commissioned us to design a new house in a classical style. The outcome is a Georgian style country manor house with a garden room and garage annexe. The construction method used a highly insulated, air-tight timber frame with handmade brick external cladding to the walls. The house is heated via geothermal coils laid out under the front lawn. Solar thermal panels on the roof feed into the hot water system and cold water is drawn directly from a borehole in the garden. Background ventilation is delivered via a mechanical heat recovery system. The house sits within large, established grounds with wonderful views over the Kennett valley. The house creates an illusion that is has been there for centuries.
