The brief on this project was to extend the existing restaurant facilities up onto a mezzanine floor with a trolley lift to a new servery area. The mezzanine floor will provide a modern comfortable seating area, which will encourage school pupils to mix and socialise whilst enjoying the new coffee shop style servery. All the new furniture and internal finishes have been specially designed to enhance the pupils dining experience equal to that provided in the Milton Keynes Shopping Centre. The existing Kitchen has been extended into one redundant classroom providing an area for the new walk in fridge and freezer rooms. In addition, the whole ground floor kitchen serving area has been extended to provide a more efficient servery, till and seating area for an improved dining experience for pupils and staff.
