The University of Worcester’s Peirson Student Advice and Guidance Centre reopened in March 2013, after a full redesign and refurbishment by One. Under the £1.5m initiative the former library in the heart of the St John’s campus has been transformed into a multi-dimensional study and support services hub. Providing over 390 places for group and silent study, the building’s internal layout has been rearranged to better suit the existing orientation and to create a new entrance and focal point for the library. The use of intelligent systems optimises user comfort, including natural ventilation and LED lighting, while acoustic baffles help to reduce noise throughout the facility.
