15 Bluelion Place , LONDON , SE1 4PU

Hidden in the subterranean depths of London on Clapham Common is a WWII Deep Level Shelter, used to house residents of South London during the Blitz and the West Indian immigrants who formed the Windrush generation in 1948. The site was then used as archive storage into the late 1990s and fell into disuse in early 2000. The site is Grade II listed and retains many of the original features from WWII. Our proposals in conjunction with Transport for London and The London Transport Museum are for a permanent exhibition and facilities to allow historical tours of the shelter to occur along with a cafe/restaurant space to enhance the area and draw peoples attention to this important heritage asset.
