The town of Penarth has been the subject of much development and modernization in recent times. Our client fell in love with the site and wanted to produce a potentially award winning building to semi- replace the existing 50’s building which won awards when it was first built. The building as it stands is in much need of modernization and it is standing on foundations which have broken up and are unstable to sustain existing or new first floor. The goal of this project is to provide good sustainable home for our client in an attractive community setting with a building that can be enjoyed both visually by the local people and holistically by the clients and their friends and family. The house is designed to be as light and open as possible without compromising the privacy of the occupants or their neighbors, with generous rooms, straight walls/lines and spaces that link together to deliver a design where all the spaces can be continuous.
