New Build
Newham, A Classical country house on a commanding site overlooking the Fowey river. It is very much a building of Conrwall using Cornish granite, Cornish slate, "shallot" (local rubblestone) and English oak, and built by local craftsmen. Like all buildings built of good materials in a sound and careful manner it is not an unwelcome intruder in the landscape, it enhances it. Inside there are specially designed chimney pieces and plaster cornices with in the centre of flowing stone cantilevered staircase. Newham won a Georgian Group Award for a New Building in the Classical Tradition.
