Scenario Architecture

Scenario Architecture , 10a Branch Place , London , N1 5PH

Our main objective when renovating this Edwardian house was to modify it to suit the lifestyle of its new owners. The original design felt too formal and they wanted to create a sense of place with greater connectivity while maintaining a level of separation between the kitchen dining and living areas. To achieve this, we introduced elements that provided both visual and physical connections in strategic locations.A large window seat between the kitchen and living room provides a visual connection between kitchen, living room and garden, and the kitchen worktop seamlessly flows into the patio, forming a BBQ area beneath the overhang of the roof. We wanted to achieve a large, distinctly modern, ground-floor extension while respecting and complementing the existing house. We accomplished by using white glazed bricks for the contemporary and fluid extension, laid in Flemish-bond to match the language of the original house.
