NOTES: Williams had researched and developed his ideas for airport hangar construction since the mid-1940s and had sent the Ministry of Civic Aviation models of his hexagonal design structure. Around 1950 Williams was approached by the Ministry to design a hangar complex at London Airport (since 1966 known as Heathrow Airport). The Ministry and BOAC, who would use the facility, considered these designs but in the end they were rejected as lacking in required flexibility within the structure and Williams produced the design which was constructed between 1950 and 1955. The hexagonal design originally proposed was later developed as an exhibition hall with an unobstructed floor area of 6 acres.

Product overview

Images are printed to order on high quality photographic paper using the latest digital technology. Images can be ordered in either matt, semi-gloss or gloss finish.

If you intend to frame your print behind glass, then we recommend that you select the semi-gloss or matt finish so that you get less light reflection from the print/glass.

The images in our collection, although kept to the highest possible standards, can sometimes display irregularities. These may have been caused during their original printing, or through damage that has occurred before coming to RIBA. In some cases therefore, these may be visible on your photographic reproduction.

Please note that because the original images available come in all shapes and sizes, and will never be cropped or distorted, different images will have different borders. When you order a product, the product choice screen will give you an approximate portrayal of how the image will fit on different print sizes.

Prices

Framed print costs include the cost of the print. Pricing will vary depending on the size of the print, frame, quantity and style of the mount(s) selected.

Delivery

Prints and frames are made to order and will normally be despatched within 10-12 working days.

Unframed prints are shipped worldwide.
UK Shipping: £3.95 per order plus £0.10 for each additional unframed print.
EU Shipping: £4.95 per order plus £0.10 for each additional unframed print.
World Shipping: £5.95 per order plus £0.10 for each additional unframed print.

Framed prints are shipped to UK mainland only.
UK Shipping: £12.00 per order plus £2.95 for each additional framed print.

Cancellation charge

If you decide to cancel or return your print to order framed or unframed print for any reason, it is unlikely we could sell it again at full price. Therefore, a 20% cancellation fee of the order price will apply. Please refer to our terms & conditions for more information.
