NOTES: The client, P. Barnett, challenged Lubetkin to design a house for 'ordinary people' as opposed to the rich clientele Tecton normally attracted. The ensuing 8 houses that were built as part of the speculative estate development consisted of 3 different types, ranging from the smallest, Type A, (semi-detached; one pair only), through Type B (detached) to Type C (the largest key features of which were the curved concrete porches and the fireplace with its enclosed stair snaking around the chimney). The houses sold at prices ranging from +é-ú950 to +é-ú1200.
