Arundel House, Strand, London: survey half-elevation of a fireplace and overmantel

NOTES: This survey drawing was probably made during John Smythson's 1618-19 London visit, following the recent alterations to the existing house, which were probably carried out by Inigo Jones. The carver and tomb maker Thomas Ashby also supplied Smythson with an annotated drawing of this particular fireplace in around 1618.
