NOTES: Founded in 1140, this former Augustinian abbey church was elevated to cathedral status in 1542. The nave was rebuilt by George Edmund Street in 1868-1877. The Lady Chapel was largely 14th century, restored in the early 19th century, with brightly painted decoration being added in the 20th century. The reredos is 14th century.
