NOTES: Carlton House Terrace stands on the site of the Prince Regent's Carlton House, demolished in 1825. John Nash designed the Terrace which was built between 1827 and 1833. The works Blow and Billerey carried out for Lord Ridley were in the part of number 10 on the east side of the Duke of York's Steps. According to the report in the Builder (6 October 1911, p. 391) "the main walls and general distribution of the first floor were retained, the former inside arrangement of areas, service stairs, lift wells, etc., was swept away, and the old staircase pulled down in order to build a new staircase of architectural proportions and to simplify the planning of the drawing rooms."
