NOTES: The Metropolitan Cathedral was constructed over a period of two centuries between 1570-1813. The original design came from models created by Claudio de Arcinega and Juan Miguel de Aguero. The bell towers were added 1787-1793 by Jose Damian Ortiz de Castro and the cathedral was completed by Manuel Tolsa in 1813, who added the front facade.
