NOTES: This building on College Green had been the headquarters of the National Bank Ltd since its foundation in 1835 by the Irish nationalist Daniel O'Connell (1775-1847). In 1962 the bank acquired adjoining premises fronting Suffolk Street where a new four-storey building was erected to designs by Michael Scott & Partners and this, the original banking hall, was remodelled.
