The First book of Andrea Palladio's architecture (London, 1742), frontispiece NOTES: This portrait of Palladio appears as the frontispiece to Isaac WareÔÇÖs publication in English in 1742 of PalladioÔÇÖs first book from his Quattro libri dell' architettura. This follows the publication in 1737-1738 of Ware's English translation of all four books. The design of the portrait in profile in an oval decorative cartouche was by William Kent and it was engraved by Ware.
