NOTES: This drawing was made either by Visentini or one of his assistants. The inscription suggests that the image shows the portal of the Palazzo del Podesta and attributes the design to Palladio. However it is more likely that the arch was erected beside Padua Cathedral in honour of Alvise Valaresso, Captain of Padua, following the plague of 1631.
