NOTES: Belhus Park House was built in 1526 for the John Barrett family. Between 1744-1777, it underwent some changes, including 'gothicisation', especially of the windows and in 1754 Capability Brown was commissioned to redesign the grounds. During the second world war, the house suffered from bomb damage and subsequent vandalisation. It was demolished in 1957. See RIBA140714 for the negative version of this image.
