This, the fifth hall of the Salters' llivery company, was destroyed by fire during the air raids of the 10th and 11th May 1941. The hall was demolished in 1951, the site sold for redevelopment, and a modern hall, designed by Sir Basil Spence, built in Fore Street which opened in 1976.
