NOTES: The Ospedale Maggiore, the earliest municipal hospital was built from 1457 onwards, by architects, Antonio Filarate, who designed the main facades, completed by his successor Guiniforte Solari in 1465. The building was completed c. 1624 by Francesco Maria Ricchini. It was badly damaged by bombing in 1943.
