NOTES: This boathouse and summerhouse was built as a facility for Dr Langdon-Down and his family, staff and patients at the hospital he established at Normansfield House for patients with the condition now known as DownÔÇÖs Syndrome, named after Dr Langdon-Down. The boathouse and summerhouse, now listed, was not built exactly as shown in this drawing. Plumbe also designed the Normansfield Theatre, an ÔÇÿentertainment hallÔÇÖ for the hospital, which opened in 1879, still exists and is also now listed.
