NOTES: Jones's design for his 'Constantine' arch is based on the arch engraved by Alberti in 'L'Architettura' (1550), VIII, p.294. The sculptured panels over the side arches were inserted on seperate paper; the two roundels are inscribed Laetitia Publica and Hylaritas Publica, also inserted, and drawn by John Webb.
