NOTES: This is a block plan of the whole layout, showing the design for encasing the Queen's House to form a monumental terminating feature with oval forecourt and vista with avenues of trees and three more buildings beyond. This plan envisages a very large new chapel more or less on the site of the Queen's House, preceded by an oval forecourt directly inspired by St Peter's Square in Rome. The Queen's House was to be rebuilt further back.
