NOTES: This photograph is dated before 1878 based on the fact that the Cathedral's gabled fronts lack mosiacs added in 1878. The facade in polychrome marble was designed by Giovanni Pisano in 1285. The upper part, in the style of the Cathedral of Orvieto, was added by Giovanni di Cecco after 1376.
