NOTES: The Giza necropolis comprises three pyramids on the Giza plateau on the outskits of Cairo. The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, and Pyramid of Cheops, is the oldest and the largest and dates from 2590 BC. The Pyramid of Khafre or Chephren, the second largest, dates from 2550 BC. The Pyramid of Menkaure, or Mycerius, the third and smallest, dates from 2504 BC.
