NOTES: Although the cathedral was completed in 1903, the interiors remained unfinished. J. F. Bentley had intended to cover the lower walls with marble and the splendid bare brick vaults in mosaics. In 1953 embellishments to the interior were undertaken which included the removal of the verde antico marble column supporting the arcade in the north transept.
